Environmental Studies

Minor Requirements

Environmental Studies program’s requirements for the minor and course offerings challenge students to produce knowledge about the environment while strengthening their analytical skills. The Minor’s curriculum continues to evolve and reflect necessary interventions in traditional notions of the environment, wilderness, and environmental justice. The interdisciplinary course designs and conceptual frameworks consistently challenge students to develop culturally competent perspectives about a range of issues that affect the future of the planet. Courses serve to introduce students to the scientific and structural problems that influence policy-making processes, while incorporating an examination of the economic, political, and cultural frameworks within which policy decisions impact the environment and drive anthropogenic climate change.
